Poetry come in all sizes and shapes. Most have a metrical structure, meaning that the words' syllables or sounds (or both) follow a pattern. Many poems use imagery or wordplay. Don't worry about the grammar too much; it's okay to bend the rules here.(:

S O N N E T -->
A poem with fourteen lines and ten syllables per line. Most follow a specific rhyme scheme.

H A I K U -->
Three lines of five syllables, seven syllables, and five syllables, respectively.

F R E E - V E R S E -->
A special type of poem that doesn't use end rhyme of a pattern of strong and weak beats.

C O U P L E T S -->
The last word in the first line rhymes with the last word in the second line, forming a pair.

Plays are stories to be preformed by actors. The characters come to lie through the actors' speech and movements. In the written play you will find dialog, stage directions, and occiasional notes.
